I am listing information here to help answer questions or provide links to help you to determine if you should consider appealing your property's assessed value to lower your property taxes.
First, here is a link to the Medina County web-page for property tax appeals:
http://www.medinacountyauditor.org/frm_bor.htm
Please read the previous sections on "Property Tax Appeals" and "What are the Risks". Those pages include important information.
I would also encourage you to watch the video for the link below. This presentation is by Michael Kovack, the Medina County Auditor.
I am also providing you with the link to the actual "Complaint" form ( http://www.medinacountyauditor.org/download/12BORComplaintForm.pdf ) as well as their instructions ( http://www.medinacountyauditor.org/download/12BORComplaintFormB.pdf ).
Sometime after your Complaint is filed, you will receive a notice from the Clerk of the Board of Revisions, to schedule an in-person hearing. This is where you, and only you, will present your case as to why your assessed value should be reduced so that you have lower property taxes.
Keep in mind that these things are never a "slam-dunk". The better information you have about homes sold within the last 6-months and no more than 1-mile from your home, that match the style, size, condition, etc, of your home, the better information you have to support your Complaint.
Good luck, and let me know if I can help.
